How ICT Has Changed In Society
Communications –
The way we communicate these days are very different we would still use the standard ways which is verbally talking, using hand gestures, and standard telephone calls. In ICT today many things have changed for example the way we communicate is a big change since 30years ago. We now use emailing, MSN, Facebook, Skype, and Twitter. For example these are many ways of how we communicate and they are all also free of charge. The only thing you would have to pay for is your broadband bill every month. Skype is massive as you can video call anyone on the computer or your Smartphone as long as they have a Skype account. Mobile phones have become a big hit in recent years you can use text messaging, video calling, phone calling etc. there is now Smartphone’s out where there is SAT NAVS on them for example.

For example all the crisp packets, chocolate bars for example all this is designed using a computer. We would use a design program like Photoshop or Macromedia Fireworks, these are two very good programs for designing logos, pictures etc. in the older days you would have had to draw the design of the product out on paper and this could turn into a lot of mistakes and needing to correct them all over again so this would take a lot of time.

Before computers where invented everything would have been jotted down on a piece of paper and all the prices would be added up with a calculator. The products would have sticky labels on every one of them so you know how much they cost but all you have to do nowadays is scan the product with the barcode scanner its very convenient and saves lots of time. shopping online is massive now a days, it is getting more popular with more websites selling products. eBay and Amazon are big websites with lots of products from clothes to electronics etc. you can also do grocery shopping online with Tesco or Sainsburys this is very convenient as everything is delivered to your door.

There is over 700Million Facebook users that’s near 1/6 of the population it is estimated that at the end of 2012 there will be 900million users. Facebook is great for communication with family and friends and people you used to go to school with. Twitter is massive now too as you can now follow your favourite sports idols or celebrities and find out what they’re getting up to in their daily life.

Pedophiles could change their identity and steal someone else’s this is called Identity Theft. They could to this and talk to young boys and girls. Cyber bullying is a big crime and this usually happens when someone picks on another person and calls them names, threatens them, tells them that there a nobody and basically brings the person down and making them feeling really low, this could lead to thinking about suicide.
